The Hub is the public face of the new campus at Heslington East masterplanned by BDP. It is the gateway through which visitors will enter the campus, and as such is the most significant building on the site.A curving wing of offices, copper clad lecture theatre, demonstration box and study pods, are expressed as discreet volumes and cluster together within and around a grand hall. The hall with its ground floor cafe looks out via a fully glazed elevation to the south providing views of the lake and Vale of York beyond. The lakeside boardwalk gives access to the individual study pods and floats on the hub basin.
